BigTeams was acquired by Arbiter in August of 2025. Effective April 1, 2026, all preparticipation registration forms and signatures must now be completed in Arbiter and be approved by the Athletic Director before participating in any physical activity related to Academic Magnet Athletics. Only one account is needed per family to complete the Arbiter athletic registration process.
Once approved, all forms remain valid for the duration of the school year in which they are submitted, expiring annually on June 30th. Completing the registration process and having all preparticipation forms approved by the Athletic Director does not guarantee a student a place on a team roster, but they are required to try out.
If you need assistance with Arbiter's registration process, you can contact the registration support department at Arbiter by email or by phone (1-800-311-4060).
Physicals: Only sports physicals dated on/after April 1st of the current calendar year are accepted in accordance with SCHSL rules and regulations. Sports physicals can be obtained at most pediatrician offices, primary care doctors, and walk-in clinics. Camp physicals, Scouts physicals, and other physicals for specialized programs are not accepted in lieu of a sports physical
AMHS 9th-graders only: Academic Magnet falls under special guidelines related to all magnet schools. As a result, no freshman may compete in a varsity sport until the appropriate form is completed by the Athletic Director and submitted to the SCHSL. No action is needed by parents/guardians for this.
AMHS 10th & 11th-grade transfer students only: Any 10th or 11th-grade student who transfers to Academic Magnet after the beginning of their 9th-grade year may not compete in a varsity sport until the appropriate form is completed by the Athletic Director and submitted to the SCHSL. No action is needed by parents/guardians for this.
Athletic Insurance: Charleston County School District requires all student-athletes to carry athletic insurance through A-G Administrators. This plan serves as a secondary plan to supplement any medical coverage the student may already have. Athletic insurance is due once per school year and covers the student for the entirety of the school year, regardless of whether they play one sport or multiple sports. The cost is $53/year and can be paid on RevTrak.
In the event of an injury in which any medical care or appointment is necessary, please contact the Athletic Trainer to complete and file a claim. Parents/guardians are responsible for submitting athletic-related claims to A-G Administrators by email or through their secure portal.
