We are excited to announce Mr. Austin Miller as the new Raptors head football coach. With a proven track record of leadership, dedication, and success on and off the field, Coach Miller brings both a wealth of experience and his natural enthusiasm to the Raptor football program.
Coach Miller is no stranger to the Academic Magnet community as he served as the associate head coach and defensive coordinator for the Raptors during the 2024 football season. Coach Miller brings 14 years of cumulative coaching experience, having previously served as defensive coordinator at Porter-Gaud and defensive line coach at West Ashley High School. During his tenure at Porter-Gaud, he led the Cyclone defense in back-to-back appearances in the SCISA 4A state semi-finals. Coach Miller emphasizes academic excellence, sportsmanship, and the development of student-athletes as leaders both on and off the field.
AMHS Athletic Director, Raymond Knauer, said, “We’re excited for the bright future of Raptor Football under Coach Miller’s leadership. We’ve got a lot of great things ahead of us!” As head coach, Coach Miller plans to build on the tradition of success at Academic Magnet, developing a competitive and disciplined football program that places emphasis on teamwork, character, and academics.
"I am honored to assume this new position within the Academic Magnet family," Coach Miller said. "My goal is to help our student-athletes grow as individuals, both on the field and in the classroom. Together, we continue building a strong program and making our community proud."
