The Academic Magnet High School boys’ swimming program has won multiple individual and relay championships at the state meet over the past several years, but hadn’t won a team state title in over a decade. That stretch ended on October 10, 2025, as the Raptors won the South Carolina High School League AAA championship at the University of South Carolina, scoring 512.5 points, rolling past second-place St Joseph's Catholic School (426 points). This is Academic Magnet’s third state title in boys’ swimming, previously winning in 2012 and 2013.

The Raptors also had a pair of individual state champions - Parker Hamilton in the 100-yard freestyle (44.37), setting a new school record for this event, and Logan Patterson in the 100-yard backstroke (52.24).

Hamilton and Patterson were also part of several podium finishes for Academic Magnet:

• 50-yard freestyle (Hamilton) - second place
• 200-yard medley relay (Hamilton, Patterson, Steven Moody, and Fletch Thurmond) - third place)
• 400-yard freestyle relay (Hamilton, Patterson, Finley Connors, and Moody) - third place

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Thurmond, Reid Aikman, Iaroslav Abramov, and Gabe Kuprel also took third.
